Hydrotherapy Rockhampton & Yeppoon
Hydrotherapy programs in Rockhampton & Yeppoon. As there are a wide range of conditions which benefit from hydrotherapy, our Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP) at Prompt EPS will be able to assess your suitability for hydrotherapy rehabilitation and design an effective water-based exercise program that will improve your condition and meet your health and fitness goals.
What is hydrotherapy:
Hydrotherapy, or aquatic therapy, is physical exercise undertaken while the patient is semi-immersed in water. Ideally, the water temperature is between 32-36deg as warm water reduces stiffness, improves pain sensation and relaxes the muscles. In addition, the buoyancy of the water reduces the forces experienced on the body improving its function.
Hydrotherapy is suitable for:
- Arthritis
- Balance and gait issues
- Cancer
- Chronic pain (hip, knee, back, neck)
- Fibromyalgia
- Musculoskeletal conditions (e.g. hip/knee replacement, sporting injuries)
- Neurological conditions (e.g. Multiple sclerosis, Cerebral palsy)
- Obesity
- Pregnant/post-Partum
